Our Ambassador – John Giampino
A Journey of Resilience and Purpose
Being medically discharged from the Army in 2017 after 31 years of service was the lowest point of my life. Having spent most of my life alongside like-minded soldiers, I suddenly found myself on the other side of the fence—a moment that shattered my sense of self-worth. Every day was a struggle just to find happiness.
One day, I made the decision to take control of my life and seek out something that would bring me the same sense of purpose and joy that the Army had given me. I’ve always loved fixing things, so I pursued my carpenter’s ticket and started my own business. However, the company didn’t operate the way I had envisioned.
I founded I Can Fix That (www.icanfixthat.com.au), but it wasn’t until I completed the IGY6 program that I was able to turn it into a professional business employing other Veterans.
Through my diagnosis with PTSD, I developed anxiety and depression. I sought support via equine therapy at "The Path of the Horse" but it wasn't until I found IGY6 that my life transformed in ways I never imagined possible.
Finding Strength Through IGY6
Looking back, I am deeply grateful for everything that has happened to me. I am living proof that the IGY6 program, truly works. I have lost 37 kilos, completely shifted my mindset, and became a different person.
Today, I am incredibly proud to serve as an Ambassador for IGY6. Helping others is my passion, and IGY6 has already made a profound impact on Veterans and NDIS participants. I look forward to helping many more people on their journey to recovery and empowerment.
